FÜHL ICH NICHT (2021)

Das alte Ägypten wurde auf Eselrücken gebaut und der Klang einer Sopranistin soll schlank und silbrig sein. Obwohl bewiesen ist, dass Esel intelligente Tiere und Frauenstimmen hörbar tiefer geworden sind, verharren sowohl die Hörerwartungen in der Oper, als auch der Glaube, dass Esel dumm seien. Time to act. Für die installative Performance „Fühl ich nicht“ hat das feministische Musiktheaterkollektiv staatsoper24 neue Wege eingeschlagen und mit der Illustratorin Eva Dietrich eine Uraufführung komponiert — die Arie 2.0. Gemeinsam fragen sie: wann können wir die Möhre endlich Möhre sein lassen und als Frauen* so klingen, wie wir wollen?

Ancient Egypt was built on donkey backs and the sound of a soprano is said to be slender and silvery. Although it has been proven that donkeys are intelligent animals and women’s voices have become audibly deeper, both operatic listening expectations and the belief that donkeys are stupid persist. Time to act. For the installative performance „Fühl ich nicht“ (I don’t feel), the feminist music theatre collective staatsoper24 broke new ground and composed a world premiere together with the illustrator Eva Dietrich – the Aria 2.0. Together they ask: when can we finally let the carrot be the carrot and sound as women* the way we want?
